Things I’m passionate about/love
I always want whoever is reading my blog to know me, who I am, and what I believe. I thought what better way to get to know me better than telling all of you what I’m passionate about/ what I love!
- My family! Josh and Avery are LITERALLY my everything! I wake up and go to bed thinking about them and what I can be doing for them. I find so much happiness in seeing them happy! I can’t imagine not having Josh as my husband or not having Avery as my daughter! I know I talk about them both a lot but it’s not nearly as much as I want to. The things Avery says to me and Josh does for me warms my heart! Last night Avery wanted me to cuddle her and hold her hand so she could fall asleep. Right before she fell asleep she told me “I really love you” and instantly happy tears streamed down my cheeks. Avery is the most thoughtful person I’ve ever met and the fact that out of everyone God picked me to be her mommy just amazes me!
- God! God always comes first in my life and that’s the way I like it. He has given me so much to be thankful for! His plans are so much greater than mine (sometimes I need to remind myself of this) and I love having God as my Heavenly Father! Josh and I do our best to raise Avery up how God wants us to and love teaching her more about him. Yesterday at church Avery took communion for the first time and I explained it to her the best I could to a toddler and after it was done she said she wanted more bread dipped in juice haha. The responsibility of teaching our kids about God is very important to us!
- Country music! By far my favorite genre of music! Give me some country music and sweet tea and I’m set! My favorite artists are Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, and Luke Bryan. My 10 favorite country songs right now are “She’s in love with a boy”, “Real men love Jesus”, “Make you miss me”, “From the ground up”, “John Cougar, John Deer, John 3:16”, “This”, “Making memories of us”, “Burnin it down”, “Then”, and “I met a girl”. Something about hearing a country song just puts me in a good mood! So living in the state of country music suits me well!
“From the Ground Up”
I was watching The bachelorette this afternoon (I know most of it is fake but I seem to find myself watching it every season!) and when Jojo went to Luke’s hometown at the end of the day there was a song playing in the background. It was “From the ground up” by Dan and Shay. I love this song! When I hear it I think about Josh and I just smile so big! There’s a verse in the song that says Continue reading

Austria and Italy Recap
Ok I know I’m a little late on posting this because we’ve already been in London for a day but ever since I posted the Paris recap we had been in Austria and Italy. We went to 2 towns in Austria and in between that we took a 2 day trip to Italy.
In Austria we stayed in a cute little village and got coffee and dessert pretty much every day at the bakery. (Avery loved the mini donuts!!) I tried spinatknödle which is a spinach dumpling for the first time and it is amazing!! It tastes a lot like quiche. We ate it with these special noodles and loved it so much that we went online and ordered the special tool so that we could make them at home. Can’t wait to put my cooking skills to the test when we get home! Also in Austria we went to this adventure park thing. It’s a series of obstacles that you have to do but to make it much more difficult and interesting you do all of it 40 feet in the air in the middle of the woods harnessed to wires. I screamed a few times and my arms were ready to fall off but I didn’t slip off once which is not common for girls that do it! The next day muscles I didn’t even know existed hurt! And of course Josh did amazing and finished all the tasks super fast! He’s seriously so amazing at everything he does, it’s crazy! I didn’t think I wanted to do the adventure park because I don’t like heights but I love being adventurous with my husband so I did it and ended up loving it! It’s like a grown up version of the obstacle courses my dad and I used to do as a kid on the playground.
Another thing we did in Austria that I loved was touring the original house of the Trapp family from The Sound of Music! I have loved that movie for so long and it was so cool to go to the actual house that the movie was based on and see where the kids grew up. And I learned so much! Like that the oldest daughter and one of sons Kurt were made up to make the story more interesting. There were 7 kids but none that fit those 2 characters. So the whole romantic relationship with the oldest daughter and the mail boy was made up. And the house in the movie is way bigger than the actual house!
The rest of our Austria trip was pretty relaxing. We went on tons of walks, played at the park, rode bikes, and played doctor a million times with Avery’s new Doc Mcstuffins Doctor kit. We needed that relax time because in between our time in Austria we took a mini trip to Venice, Italy.
I was looking forward to Venice the most because I had always dreamed of going to Italy. We stayed in this super cute country villa outside of Venice that could be in movies! And naturally I had to do a little photoshoot of Avery because the backgrounds were too cute to pass up! As soon as we got into the city the next day we walked around everywhere! The water was so gorgeous and it was like a totally different world! I loved seeing no cars and only cute little boats. All the bridges to cross over the water were so cute. And the weather was so perfect! We ate pizza, shopped, took a long and gorgeous boat ride to an ice cream parlor where without realizing it Josh ordered an ice cream drink thing with alcohol in it. He started drinking it thinking it tasted weird and a lot like raw eggs so he made me take a little sip and it was the worst thing I’d ever tasted in my life! Sure enough there was egg yolk liquor in it. First off YUCK!!! Who would ever make a drink like that?! And second off be careful when ordering dessert drinks in another country! Besides that Venice was wonderful! For sure one of the highlights of my trip!
And now we are in London which is our last stop before going home! Make sure to read my blog next weekend so that you can read all about our London highlights and wrapping up our almost 2 month trip!!
Paris Recap
Our time in Paris has come to an end. We are now in Austria! We will be home 3 weeks from yesterday! Going to Paris was a great experience and now I’ll be able to check that off my bucket list! We stayed in a spacious and cute apartment while in Paris which was perfect for us and gave Avery plenty of room to play. The only thing we didn’t like was the size of the elevator to get up to our apartment. It was so tiny that we could barely fit 2 adults plus Avery in there. I’ll have a photo of the elevator at the end of the blog.
The first 3 days we went site seeing and shopping! Our first stop was Sacré Coeur (sacred heart). It was so cool to see the city from the steps and walk inside such a huge and beautiful church. After walking around the church we got the best gelato I’ve ever eaten in my life!! Avery and I shared strawberry gelato and I can still taste how fresh and sweet it was! I already know I’ll be eating tons of gelato in Italy! Then we walked along Champs-Élysées (a shopping strip leading up to Arc de Triomphe). We went to the Disney store for Avery and got her some Doc Mcstuffins toys that she has been playing with non-stop. She has been to the Disney store in every country we’ve been to and always manages to find 1 special thing she loves. Our last tourist stop we had to make was the Eiffel Tower. It was kinda rainy and cloudy that day so we couldn’t see as far out on the city but it was still a cool experience. I’m glad we went the day we did because the next day it was closed because of a riot happening in Paris. Thankfully we were at our apartment cozy and safe.
Josh had to work Thursday-Saturday so Avery, Josh’s mom Stephanie and I did a little bit of shopping and walking around. The expo that Josh was working was busier on Saturday and since it was all guys working the 2 days before they thought having a girl there would help bring in more customers. So I went to work with Josh that day and spoke French as well as I could. I am much better at reading it than I am speaking it!
After working and being gone for a total of 13 hours I was ready to get home to my baby! My heart goes out to moms that have to work outside of their home because I realized how hard it was. Thankfully Avery loved hanging out with “Nannee” (Stephanie) all day. That was the longest time I’ve been away from Avery and I wasn’t a fan of it. It was nice to make extra money and see how well Josh does at his job but working from home and with my Avery Gracie on my lap is what I’m meant to be doing!
Our time in Paris wasn’t very long but we did a lot in the time we had! I am looking forward to staying in a little village in Austria and experiencing there way of life there. No one speaks English in the town we are staying in but luckily Josh speaks a little German!
Onto the next journey in our trip abroad! Look for our Austria Recap next week! 🙂
