Our Thanksgiving

I was so excited to host my first thanksgiving ever and to also have it be the first thanksgiving married. I had been planning and prepping for weeks.
We ended up having to have our thanksgiving on Wednesday because today we had to drive to New York. Which is sooo gorgeous by the way! This is my first time in the big apple and I love it! Anyways on Wednesday morning I woke up at 7 to get ready and then at 7:30 when Avery woke up I got her ready and we headed downstairs. While she watched bubble guppies and ate breakfast I went to work making drinks, appetizers, and different dishes for dinner. Joshs mom, step dad, and grandparents arrived at 11:30 and we ate appetizers and played Yahtzee. I thought Avery would nap but I was wrong. Thankfully she was in a really good mood all day! Josh and I played some intense rounds of uno (he won most of them unfortunately). As I finished making the last dish I realized we made a little too much food. Earlier in the day we had appetizers which consisted of a veggie tray, fruit tray and Carmel dip, deviled eggs, crab and cheese bites, salmon ball and crackers, and cheesy bacon dip and chips. Then for dinner at 3 we had salad, cranberries, olives, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, stuffing, creamed corn, rolls, gravy and turkey of course! You can say we over cooked a little! And to top it off we had pumpkin pie, apple pie, ice cream and homemade whipped cream for dessert! It was so much fun to cook and decorate for my first thanksgiving! I realized that half of the work of thanksgiving is cleaning up afterwards! And I needed to get the house ready for us leaving. After I got Avery to bed I fell asleep very quickly last night! It was so much fun to make fun memories and new traditions! I look forward to doing thanksgiving again next year!
