Well the time has come to share with you all a few of our wedding photos. I wish I could share all 400 of them because they are all so amazing! Our photographer was the best! If you live in the Vancouver, WA area you need to have her take your photos! Her name is Jennifer Short at Camas Photography (she has taken all of our photos for a couple years now). Anyways I hope you all enjoy the photos and for those of you who weren’t there I hope these photos make you feel like you were. Continue reading

Listening to our children
Why do I take the time to hear out my almost 1 1/2 year old daughter when I can’t understand half of the things she is saying? Because she is a human who needs to be heard and listened to. I listen to my daughters needs and feelings. There are times she doesn’t want to be touched and I respect that. There are times that she wants to walk up the stairs all by herself or there are times she wants to be carried and I respect that too. I don’t spoil my daughter I listen to her and meet her needs. I believe that just because our kids can’t communicate what they are feeling doesn’t mean their feelings don’t matter. Continue reading

10 Wishes for Avery
My 10 Wishes for Avery are:
- She always follows God’s plan for her.
- She uses her soft and sweet heart to do great things.
- She finds a husband just like her daddy.
- She never forgets how much daddy and I love her and how much we will do for her.
- She finds the gift God has given her and uses it to please him.
- She never gets afraid of what the future holds.
- She always lets her mommy and daddy love on her.
- She is confident and knows who she is.
- She always chases her dreams.
- And last but not least she loves God with all her heart.
Sometimes I wish that I could give Avery the world but since I can’t I pray for her. I pray for Avery multiple times a day. Praying for your kids is so important because God can take better care of them than we ever could. Continue reading
Nursing at 17 months
Avery is 17 months today and yes I am still nursing her. She used to only nurse when she woke up, when she went down for a nap and when she fell asleep at night but now she has added a couple times in the night since we have moved into our new home. I understand that this is a huge change for her so I am ok with catering to her needs. I am not going to traumatize my daughter and stop nursing all together because nursing at 17 months isn’t the “norm”. For Avery it is all about comfort. She has never liked a special stuffed animal, blanket, bottles, or pacifiers so I was her soothing method. I love knowing that I can provide my daughter with that sense of comfort and love. I love watching her drift off to sleep while I hold her and nurse at night. I love the extra cuddles I get when she needs some nursing from momma. God has given me the gift of being able to nurse Avery and I truly love it. Continue reading
