Amazon Summer Kit

Summer is a fun but busy time! Kids want to be doing something all day every day. Sometimes that can seem overwhelming which is why I put together this Amazon summer kit to make it easier on everyone! Just click on the photo and it will take you straight to the product on Amazon.

1. Water balloons – The girls love these! The fact that it fills up so many at once is a lifesaver for me.

2. Chalk paint – A fun version with chalk! and when you run out of the chalk powder just make your own by hammering chalk pieces in a baggie.

3. Extra chalk – Because you will use them up quickly with all the masterpieces your kiddos make!

4. Sprinkler – Staying cool in the summer is one of our top priorities in the South. This one is the best seller!

5. Bug Catcher – The girls refuse to hold bugs but they love looking at them so we take this bug catcher with us in case we come across one.

6. Handheld bubble blower – This one lights up and has a button instead of a trigger they have to hold which is great for little hands.

7. Giant bubbles – The girls are so impressed when I make giant bubbles so this kit is so fun!

8. Extra bubbles – And don’t run out of bubbles!

9. Misting fans – We bought our first misting fans this year and I don’t know why we haven’t bought them before! They are even so nice for parents when you are sitting down for a second to watch your kiddos play.

10. Catch ball paddle set – It can be tricky finding things to play outside that both kids and parents like equally but this is it! It’s playing catch (one of my husband’s favorite things) but a little easier for younger kids to do.

11. T ball set – While I’m on the topic of baseball, this T ball set is by far my favorite. We use ours almost every day (even in the house haha. You can either hit the ball off the top or you can turn it on and have the balls be pitched to you! For mama’s like me, you don’t have to worry about the pitch being too fast because it’s slow and upward instead of coming at them.

12. Picnic set – Having picnics are so much fun but our normal picnic baskets to hold all the food are usually too big for kids to carry. So this set makes them feel like they are grown up like us and they can even take themselves on their own picnic inside as well.

13. Mini kids pool – Days you don’t want to pack everything up and go to the pool, it’s nice to have a little one at home. Ours is not this nice and needs to be replaced soon so I think I will be getting this one. It comes in 2 sizes as well so you can pick what works for you.

14. Plastic balls – You will be amazed at how entertaining plastic balls in the pool is for kids.

15. Face painting – This is another new addition to our summer kit this year and we love it! But just a warning they will want to paint your face too!

16. Lemonade Stand – This one is so cool because your kids can earn money while they play! Plus the one I linked can be used for so much more!! I see some cute photos in the works!

17. Sunscreen – I know this isn’t too exciting but TONS of people use the wrong sunscreen that is actually harmful. In order for sunscreen to work it needs to have Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. Most don’t have both of those but this one I linked does. 2 bottles should last a long time!

18. Marble Run – When it gets too hot outside a fun activity like this can be played over and over!

19. Tape – I know I know this sounds like a weird one but there are so many ideas for kids to do with tape! Our favorites are making a tape town and roads on the carpet and playing the sticky spider web game.

20. Fort making kit – We love love love our fort making kit. We can make all different sizes and it holds up really well!

And if you don’t have a summer cart yet this is a great one!

That’s all for my Amazon summer kit! I truly hope this was helpful for you! Let me know if there are any other Amazon topics I should post about.

Quick tips to help a home run smoothly!

Having a clean, peaceful, comforting home is very important to me! I want my family to feel safe and cozy in our home and be able to feel God’s love and peace throughout it. I truly feel like my calling from God is to be a wife, mother and homemaker because those are all things I’m passionate about. Now I’ve only been on my motherhood journey for 4 1/2 years so I’m not an expert by any means but if I can offer other moms ideas on running their homes more smoothly I feel like I should share! And hopefully some of you can offer tips to me as well!  So here are a couple things I do to run our home smoothly: Continue reading

Brooklyn’s 1 Year Letter

Dear Brooklyn,

You are one!! How in the world did this year fly by so fast?! I feel like it was just the other day we were on our way to the hospital about to have you in the car haha. But I also feel like you’ve always been with us. Our family isn’t complete without you and we all love you so much!  We prayed for you for so long and having you is so special to us! We prayed for a little baby that felt like a baby (because your sissy always felt so grown up to us) and that’s exactly what we got! You are our petite, feisty, silly, independent, dancing, adorable, strong little girl!

Homeschool Plan!

Growing up I wanted to be a mom and a teacher so homeschooling Avery is the best of both worlds! Avery does performing arts preschool 3 days a week for 3 hours each day and then we also do homeschooling throughout the week. It’s nothing major or time consuming it just gives Avery and I a chance to do something just the two of us while she learns more and more! Continue reading

My High School Graduation

Seeing all these posts about HS graduation makes me think back to when I finished high school. It was a much different picture but it was perfect!! For those that don’t know, I decided to do my junior and senior year of high school online because Avery was due in the middle of my junior year and I knew I wanted to always be with her. Embracing Sleep (or the lack of!)

I am learning to embrace every season and day no matter what it looks like. Right now it feels like our days revolve around Brooklyn’s sleep (or the lack of it haha). When she was first born she would sleep ALL the time! It was so much different than what we went through with Avery and I thought hey maybe this one will be a great sleeper! Then she hit about 2 months old and would NOT sleep! Continue reading

7 Spring cleaning and organizing tips!

I am officially done with my spring cleaning/ organizing/ tackling project list month of April! Before the summer I always like to deep clean my house because it helps me be able to relax more with Avery but this year I decided to kick it up a notch! I felt like we had so much stuff in our house that we didn’t need and it was driving me crazy! Continue reading

Avery’s 4th birthday party!

I LOVED decorating and planning Avery’s birthday party this year! I love doing her parties every year but this year was the best so far! Avery is really into My Little Ponies right now and her favorite character is Rainbow Dash. So naturally she wanted a Rainbow Dash party. Whatever character she’s into that year is usually what her party is going to be. (2nd birthday was Bubble Guppies and 3rd birthday was a combination of Doc McStuffins and Phineas and Ferb). I got super excited with the thought of a rainbow party and adding in all the My Little Ponies! Whenever I plan her parties I usually start looking at Pinterest a few months before and go from there. I actually would love to start planning parties for other people as a job so after every party I do I take photos of everything to keep in a portfolio. And I decided to write this blog showing all the photos I took of her Rainbow Dash party because they are just too cute! So now here are the photos!

When the guests first walked up to the door they were greeted with a rainbow cloud sign and number 4s. Then to sort of block off the dining room we hung streamers (which backfired because all the kids just wanted to run through them haha). And then in the living room we had Rainbow Dash balloons, a happy birthday balloon sign and we used a few of her stuffed animals to decorate. Then on the gift table we added some coloring pages (that were a big hit!) and cut out My Little Ponies for her school bulletin board.

Now my favorite part! Decorating the food table. I was in love with this backdrop and so was Avery! (We kept it up for a few days afterward!) I think it’s always so fun to think of cute names for all the food. And Avery added a special touch by putting stickers on all the water bottles.

This cake was also soo cute!! Last year I made Avery’s birthday cake but this year I thought it might be easier with a baby always on my hip just to buy it and I was right. I’m very happy with the way it turned out!

For the games we gave all the kids My Little Pony masks and not pictured was a My Little Pony tattoo corner and guess the cutie mark game. For the cutie mark game we would hold up a photo of a cutie mark and then the kids had all the ponies on sticks and they would hold up the right Pony for that cutie mark. Avery loved this game because she was really good at it! And we did a piñata that was really fun! And the last 2 games were pin the tail on Rainbow Dash and toss the apples in Apple Jack’s basket.

And of course gift bags! That concludes her party! This was the best one to date and I can’t wait to see what she’s into next year for her 5th birthday. Actually I can wait because that means she is going to be FIVE! Hope you all enjoyed having a look into Avery’s Rainbow Dash party!
